ABOUT ME

I am originally from Portsmouth (that's the one by the Isle of Wight) but moved around the south of England due to being in a military family. I never wanted to follow in my parents' footsteps in the Navy - from a young age I wanted to be one of two things: a Barbie doll, or an actor. By the time I reached the age where career paths were deemed important, I had eliminated the former (being a Barbie doll involved being made of plastic and 12 inches tall - something I just wasn't willing to do). I focussed my attention on acting.

I trained at East 15 in Contemporary Theatre Practice under Brian Astbury, a formidable man (Google him if you don't believe me) who taught me many things about theatre and more importantly about being a grown-up. Our course was designed to focus not just on acting, but devising, directing, designing, and equipping us with all the skills needed to put on a show. He opened my eyes to the many possibilities of working in the theatre.

As a Theatre Practitioner, I now split my workload equally between performing, directing and writing. My passion is in devising and I enjoy working inclusively with all types of performers, particularly with "non-actors" and community groups. Collaboration is at the heart of all work that I make; 1, 2, 3+ heads are almost always better than one.
